A regional service is now available for severely needle phobic tamariki aged 5 to 11-years-old. 

If all other primary care and community-based solutions (such as home vaccination or topical anaesthesia) have been exhausted, please refer people to this service. The clinic provides anaesthetic sedation in a positive, family-friendly environment, working with play therapy specialists. See HealthPathways: Needle Phobia and Vaccination.
