Co-administration of COVID-19 and MMR and other scheduled vaccines
The Ministry of Health has requested the immediate restart of the Measles catch-up campaign in advance of New Zealand’s borders opening in 2022. To support this, in our Medinz on 7 December we provided resources to encourage the co-administration of COVID-19 with MMR and other scheduled vaccines.
The MMR vaccine and others, such as HPV and Boostrix, can be provided at the same time as a COVID-19 vaccination. If you’re a COVID-19 vaccination provider, please see if the MMR or other vaccines are due and offer these along with the COVID-19 vaccination. Or discuss outstanding immunisations with patients and offer to book them for a follow-up appointment.
Please contact your Immunisation Coordinator if you need any support.
See the HealthPathways link for a poster and handout for patients and a factsheet for clinicians about the co-administration of vaccines: COVID-19 Vaccination Resources, Health professionals resources > NRHCC > COVID-19 vaccination with other vaccinations.
Testing Information Sheet
An updated testing information sheet with the correct links is now available on ARPHS website. Please hand this out to all patients presenting for COVID-19 testing or refer them to the electronic version on the ARPHS website.
