Booster dose – clarifications

Any health and disability workers who had their second dose more than 3 months ago and are over 18, are required to have their booster by 15 February 2022.

The shortened 3-month booster interval only applies to the Pfizer vaccine. For people who want an AstraZeneca booster after two doses of the Pfizer vaccine, the dose interval remains at 4 months and a prescription is required as this is off-label use.

Please ring IMAC for advice if a patient wants a Pfizer booster after having AstraZeneca or another vaccine for their primary course.

The Ministry of Health will provide further advice about the AstraZeneca vaccine and booster doses later in February.

Payment for Vaccine Pass printing

For activity completed from 31 January 2022 onwards, providers do not need to send the $10 My Vaccine Pass claims to POAC as we are now able to extract numbers of passes printed directly from the CIR. Payments will be weekly in line with vaccine event payments.
