COVID-19

RATs

Confirmation has been given that there will be continued free RATs for community providers and public through till 30 June 2024. (No decisions have been made regarding the supply of RATs beyond June 2024).

  • Providers who have been accessing RATs from the Te Whatu Ora Central Supply can continue to do so through the normal process via the Portal or Onelink.

  • RATs currently dispatched from the Central Supply will have March 2024 expiration dates. Additional RAT stock with a longer expiration date are currently being sourced.

  • To reduce product wastage, we request you prioritise using RATs with the earliest date of expiry first.

  • Once current stock on hand is run down the new longer dated stock will be distributed. Please take this into consideration when demand planning and ordering, as Te Whatu Ora are unable to accept returned stock.

  • Contact COVID.HealthSupplyChain@health.govt.nz if you have any questions.

Molnupiravir no longer available from 1 February 2024

New Zealand’s remaining molnupiravir stock expired on 31 January 2024. Based on clinical advice, Pharmac has not purchased more stock and does not plan to at this time. More information is available on the Pharmac website.

CiTC

Care in the Community funding to support COVID-19 antiviral access will also continue until 30 June 2024 with no changes to the current service specification.
