Introduction of new HPV screening workforce phase 1
The National Cervical Screening Programme has announced workforce extension programme, that from Thursday 16 November 2023, Nurses, NPs (who are not accredited cervical sample takers and who meet certain criteria) will be able to facilitate HPV self-testing.

LabPLUS External Referrers Survey
To help improve the services provided by LabPLUS as the tertiary referral medical laboratory of Te Toka Tumai Auckland, they are keen to hear your feedback as a GP, nurse or midwife in the community. Please note this survey does not apply to Labtests/Awanui or Community Anatomic Pathology Service (APS).
LabPLUS provides community referrers in the Auckland region with a specialised laboratory testing service for tests that aren’t performed by Labtests/Awanui.
The anonymous survey takes 4-minutes to complete, and will help us better understand your level of satisfaction with the communication of critical and routine results.

Immunisation Marketing Campaign (for your information)
Over the next two weeks, we have been informed by Te Whatu Ora that they are planning to deploy two direct marketing campaigns – which are:
National Campaign – deploying the first of their regular Shingles email campaigns to eligible and contactable people, aged 65 years. At this stage, they are looking at about 11,000 messages that will be sent to this group on Weds 15th November.
In Auckland, there is a Pacific 18 – 34 MMR activity where approx. 15,000 SMS messages will be sent. The call to action will be to BookMyVaccine.nz/health provider. It is expected that this will be ready to be sent at the end of November.
