GP Peer Group Survey

Since Covid and ensuing lockdowns, Professional Education/CME/Peer Groups have been delivered in various platforms (webinars, online personal learning, virtual and in person.  Additionally, the RNZCGP MOPs requirements for GPs to be part of a Peer Group have changed.

Together with a declining number of attendees at Auckland PHO Peer Groups, we are keen to hear feedback regarding your interest in re-building Auckland PHO peer groups and/or continuing in their current format.

We would appreciate it if you could respond to this 2-minute survey to assist with GP Peer Group planning, even if you do not currently belong to an Auckland PHO Peer Group. The survey will close on Tuesday 26 March.

Ropu Nēhi Date Change

Attention nurses!  Ropu Nēhi (Nurse Peer Group) meeting for March has been postponed to Tuesday 9th of April. More information along with the agenda for this session has been sent via email from Aaron Piano to nurses in the Auckland PHO network earlier today.

All welcome 😊

Sore Throat Management – Prevention of Acute Rheumatic Fever

There has been a rise in acute Rheumatic Fever cases during 2023, with most cases in Counties Manukau, and in particular Mangere and Otara.

It is a timely reminder to ask young people, particularly Māori and Pacific patients in the high-risk ages 4 – 19 years about a sore throat and see and treat as per the guidelines and the HealthPathway.

It is also a reminder to refer whānau/families to the Health Housing Initiative – which is a free service aiming to support low-income families to have warmer, drier and healthier homes.

This information can be found in the link below which is also published on the Auckland PHO website in the Resource Library (password aucklandpho)

Mōhio also publish a report of young people who have a GAS+ test for your reference and check that appropriate treatment has commenced.
